Soundcheck Orchestra (Novi Sad/Serbia)

Ukulele, violin, piano, saxophone, flute and percussions are mighty “weapons” when they are wielded by educated musicians who are ready to play some true, good rock ‘n’ roll. This is exactly what the visitors can expect from this orchestra made up of teenagers – pupils of primary and secondary music schools from Novi Sad.

Under the artistic guidance of the eminent violinist Gabriela Benak, this group of young musicians is also blossoming outside the domain of formal education. They seem to see a bright future in a freer form of pop and rock music, and the proof for that are their interpretations of songs by Queen, Eurythmics or Elvis Presley. They adapt their arrangements to their own style, and say that they choose the songs according to the affinities of their generation.
