The second day of this year’s Street Musicians Festival will be marked by attractive concerts, circus and acting performances, karaoke competition, panel discussion and barber shop jazz \u2013 on several festival locations<\/strong>: in the Catholic Courtyard, Liberty Square, Danube and Zmaj Jovina Streets, Theatre Square and in the Chinese Quarter.<\/p>\n

The stage on Liberty Square and the space in front of it \u2013 from 5:30 PM until one hour after midnight \u2013 will host performances from: the Italian marching orchestra BadaBimBumBand<\/strong><\/em>, the youngest participants of the Festival gathered around the project Dance, The Dance, We Dance<\/strong><\/em>, young gypsy jazzers from Banja Luka Nylon Club<\/em><\/strong>, Italian acrobats and multi-instrumentalists Nando e Maila<\/em><\/strong>, Zrenjanin’s jaw-harp\/DJ duo Balkan Weirdos<\/strong><\/em>, jazz, pop and rock trio from Kikinda DrvoTruo<\/strong><\/em> and Belgrade’s singer-songwriter Kralj \u010ca\u010dka<\/strong>, better known as the Serbian Tom Waits<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The small festival stage in Zmaj Jovina Street, will, from 5 PM, first host the performance from the winner of Takt Fest \u2013 Bogdan Spasi\u0107<\/strong>, and then, in 6 PM, Lisa Pellegrini<\/strong> will perform traditional Indian dance. From 7:15 PM until 10:15 PM, the crowd in Zmaj Jovina Street will hear performances from singer-songwriter from Sremska Mitrovica Vuk Mu\u0161kinja<\/strong>, British guitar player The Flamenco Thief<\/strong><\/em> and the Hungarian world and ambient music band INTU<\/strong><\/em>. Afterwards the stage will host the Karaoke Battle<\/strong><\/em>, with contestants representing different parts of Novi Sad.<\/p>\n

Danube Street, from 7:45 PM until 11 PM, will also host the following program: Novi Sad’s troupe Creative Drive<\/strong><\/em> will perform their Contemporary Circus Show: Proletarians<\/em>, Frenchman Jean M\u00e9nigault<\/strong> will entertain clown and mime fans, street entertainer from Zagreb Davor Per\u0161i\u0107<\/strong> will show what it means to be a one-man band<\/em>, while the Italian BadaBimBumBand<\/em> will have another mobile show.<\/p>\n

Part of the Festival program, will also be the panel discussion<\/strong> about the initiative for regulating busking in Novi Sad, beginning at 2 PM in the club Fabrika<\/em> in the Chinese Quarter. And then there is the afternoon and evening program broadcast from RTV stage on the Theatre Square by Radio Novi Sad and O Radio (with concerts from Branimir & Neprijatelji<\/em><\/strong>, \u0160inobusi<\/em><\/strong>, Lira Vega<\/strong><\/em>, Samostalni referenti<\/strong><\/em>…) as well as the jazz gig in the barber shop \u010carolija Berberaj<\/em><\/strong> in 4 Mite Ru\u017ei\u0107a Street.<\/p>\n

Tonight, the big stage in the Catholic Courtyard \u2013 from 8 PM \u2013 will host performances from Novi Sad’s world music and Balkan ethno attraction Lepi Jova <\/em><\/strong>and Belgrade’s premier accordion player Mi\u0161ko Plavi<\/strong>. Rijeka’s masters of Americana and garage rock My Buddy Moose<\/em><\/strong> will perform from 22:30, while Novi Sad\u2019s radio hosts and stand-up comedians Da\u0161ko & Mla\u0111a<\/strong>, will unfortunately not be able to perform on this year\u2019s Festival due to sickness of one of the performers.<\/p>\n

The Street Musicians Festival \u2013 lasting until Saturday, 5th September<\/strong> \u2013 is organized by the Art Association Inbox<\/em><\/strong> from Novi Sad, with support from the City of Novi Sad and the Provincial Secretary for Culture and Information, Tourist Organization of the City of Novi Sad, the embassy of the United States of America in Belgrade, the Italian Institute for Culture in Belgrade, the Serbian Petroleum Industry, Telekom Serbia and Generali Insurance Serbia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
