It is with great pleasure that we are inviting you to apply to participate in the 26th Street Musicians Festival, which will take place 27-29 August 2026, in the Lower Town of the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad.<\/p>\n

This year, we want to look back to the beginnings, to the times when stages were not needed, the times when the festival consisted of mostly street musicians and performers. The program of the 26th festival will revive the atmosphere of its earlier years.<\/p>\n

We are inviting all street musicians and performers who are spending the summer in this part of Europe to come visit and join the festival, so we can all together celebrate 26 years since Novi Sad got its spot on the map of the European street festivals.<\/p>\n

We are also encouraging all other musicians and artists who are eager to try out as street musicians to apply and enrich the festival program.<\/p>\n

Since we believe that what makes a town is people, and that together we can transform urban spaces, we are continuing this year with last year\u2019s initiative for the revitalization of the Lower Town of the Petrovaradin Fortress. In this way, the participation in the Street Musicians Festival obtains a new, noble purpose, the purpose of the revival of the Suburbium (Gradi\u0107) as the geographical-cultural cross section of what Novi Sad used to be and what our town could become.<\/p>\n

PARTICIPATION PROPOSALS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Street Musicians Festival has been promoting the spirit of street art for 26 years, without imposing limits in the domain of the genre and medium of artistic expression, and without dividing art into elitist and popular. Everyone has the right to enter the contest \u2013 individuals, groups, or troupes that consider their performance or art as belonging to everyone, to the streets. Like the previous year, this year\u2019s festival will adapt its concept to the Lower Town of the Petrovaradin Fortress; therefore, the stages will be small, and the performers will be on the same level as the members of the audience, which is fitting for the baroque town of the Suburbium.<\/p>\n

The Festival welcomes performing artists from all artistic or performing arts fields. According to the artists\u2019 needs, as well as to the festival\u2019s means, this year we are offering accommodation and meals for all artists, and we are inviting all artists to place a hat, top down, for the tips from the audience, which is in the spirit of the street art tradition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
